You can customize Resource Positioning options for Plant Layout Design. These options enable you to more precisely position objects.

Instantiate from Catalog Preference

Preview
If you select this check box, you make the positioning previews available when using the catalog browser.

By default, this check box is selected.

Advanced Snap
If you select this check box, you make advanced snap positioning available when using the catalog browser.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Edit Parameters
If you select this check box, you can edit the parameters using the catalog browser.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Object Positioning Preference

Object Positioning Preference allows you to select whether to use the object's bounding box base center or the object's origin as the reference point for layout positioning. Examples of layout tools include Snap Resource or Attach.

Note: If a Locator Mechanical Port is defined on the object, it takes precedence over these options.

Use Bounding Box Base Center

By default, this check box is cleared.

Use Component Origin

By default, this check box is selected.

Use Locator Mechanical Port

By default, this check box is selected.

Smart Snap Preferences

Create Constraint After Snap
If you select this check box, when you use smart snap, an object is both snapped and attached to another object.

By default, this check box is selected.

Connector Handle Color
Select the connector handle color that used when creating layouts.

By default, the connector handle color is red.

Snap Preferences

Lock Translation and Rotation
Select Lock Translation and Rotation to lock the orientation of the snapped objects when you snap the resources.

By default, this check box is cleared.
