Diagram View

The Diagram View options let you customize the display in a diagram view, within Functional & Logical Design.

This page discusses:

Sheet Creation

Select the default standard to be applied when creating a sheet.

Crossing Line in Diagram View

Select an option to define the display of the intersection of two lines.

Crossing Line Display
Gap bridge/Arc bridge/Square bridge/Wavy bridge

Select a bridge type to create bridges between routes every time a route crosses another one.

By default, the Gap bridge option is selected.

Spacing Size

Defines the size of the bridge.

By default, the value is 2.

Crossing Line Priority

Defines on which route the bridge display is applied.

  • Horizontal gap priority: the bridge display is applied on the vertical route.
  • Vertical gap priority: the bridge display is applied on the horizontal route.

By default, the Horizontal gap priority option is selected.

Automatic crossing line detection: select this option to activate a detection for crossing routes in a diagram view when:
  • Creating a route.
  • Manipulating an existing route (move, move segment, add segments, move points, move extremities).
  • Manipulating a port or symbol connected to an existing route.
  • Changing the orientation of a route’s extremities.
  • Merging or breaking a route.
  • Inserting a symbol on an existing route.
  • Connecting or disconnecting an existing route.
  • Extending an existing route.
  • Resetting the path of an existing route.
  • Deleting a route.
  • Continuing a route using the Manage On/Off Sheet Symbols command.
Every time crossing routes are detected, bridges are created according to the gap priority defined above.

Arrows on Lines

An arrow indicates the flow direction on a route.

Arrows Frequency
Select options to define, on a route, if the arrows are displayed on all segments or on few segments.
  • On the first segment: the arrow appears on the first segment of the route.
  • On the last segment: the arrow appears on the last segment of the route.
  • On the middle segment: the arrow appears on the middle segment of the route.
  • On all other segments: arrows appear on every segment of the route.

By default, all the options are selected.

Arrows Position on First and Last Segments
Select one of the following options to define the position of the arrow on the first and the last segment.
  • In the middle: the arrow is positioned in the middle of the segment.
  • At the end according to the flow direction: the arrow is positioned at the end of the segment.
Arrow Type Options
Select a type of arrow, and then select one of the following options:
  • Preferred type: the selected arrow appears at the top of the list of arrows.
  • Forced type: the selected arrow is the only type available in the list of arrows.

Symbols Scale Value

Defines a value for the size of the symbol placed in view.

By default, the value is 1.

Manage Options in the Symbol Management Panel

Select one of the two options to hide or display the following options in the Symbol Management dialog box:

  • Edit Symbol
  • Add Existing Symbol
  • Add New Symbol
  • Default Symbol

By default, the show check box is selected.

Show or Hide Connected Connection Points

Select one of the following options to define if the connected connection points are displayed or hidden in the diagram view:

  • Show connection points that are connected
  • Hide connection points that are connected

By default, the Show connection points that are connected option is selected.

Place in View of Components

Select an option to define the connection mode when inserting components in a diagram view or in the allocation view.

  • Automatic connections: the connections are displayed automatically.
  • Connections on demand: only the selected connections are displayed.
  • No connections: the connections are not displayed.

By default, the No connections check box is selected.

Context Management

Define the active object as mandatory context when inserting reference
Select this option to define the active object as the only possible context for the insertion of new or existing references.
Note: When this option is selected, Insert New Reference and Insert Existing Reference commands are unavailable from the context menu. When cleared, the insertion of new or existing references from context menu and from catalog is possible in any context.

By default, the Define the active object as mandatory context when inserting reference option is selected.

2D Main View Activation

Select an option to manage the edition mode of 2D main view when concurrently working on a same project.

  • Yes: to activate the Edition Mode of the 2D Main View and allow modifications.
  • No: to deactivate the Edition Mode of the 2D Main View and prevent any modification.

Global Update

Select the Activation of view option

  • To display automatically the Global Update dialog box when activating a diagram view.
  • To update automatically an allocation view when double-clicking it.

Allocation View - Display Route Implement Link

These options let you change the appearance of implement links:

  • Function and logical instances: defines the color, the type of line and its thickness for implement links between function and logical instances.
  • Flow and type: defines the color, the type of line and its thickness for implement links between flows and system types.
  • Parent functions and logical instances: defines the color, the type of line and its thickness for implement links between parent functions ans logical instances.

Superimposed Route

Allow superimposed route
Select this option to allow for the creation of superimposed routes.

Automatic Space Assignment

Select these options to link automatically a space to a component or a route.

  • Components: creates automatically a link between a space and a component.

By default, this option is cleared.

  • Routes: creates automatically a link between a space and a route.

By default, this option is cleared.

Components Selection and Ports Creation

Select these options to define if the components selection or the ports creation is allowed during the routing process.

  • Allow component selection during routing process: the components can be selected when routing a route line.

By default, this option is selected.

  • Allow new port creation on component during routing process: allows new ports to be created when a component is selected during the routing process.
Note: if the previous option is cleared, this option is also cleared.

Display of 2D Box Representations for Unloaded FL Instances

Select one of the following options to manage the display of 2D box representations in the diagram view for function or logical instances:

  • Show all: the 2D box representations for unloaded instances are displayed.
