Traceability Matrix

The Traceability Matrix tab lets you customize the options for the Matrix Editor in Functional & Logical Design.

Cell and Tooltip Content

This check box enables you to define if the cell and tooltip display the attributes for:
  • the object in Row
  • the Implement Relation between the object in row and the object in column
  • the object in Column

By default, Row is selected.

Type Selection (If Applicable)

If both Reference and Instance PLM types are available, this check box lets you define which one to display.

By default, Instance is selected.

Displayed Attributes

Domain
This box lists the available four domains: Requirement, Functional, Logical and Physical. This list is filtered depending on the selected environment.

By default, Requirement is selected.

Object
This box enables you to select one of the reference types that are available for the selected domain:
  • For the Requirement domain: requirement specification, comment, chapter and requirement.
  • For the Functional domain: function, functional communication (MUX/DEMUX), and flow.
  • For the Logical domain: logical component, logical communication (MUX/DEMUX), and system type.
  • For the Physical domain: physical (product) reference.

When selecting an object type in this list, the list of the corresponding attributes is displayed.

By default, Requirement Specification is selected.

Available attributes
This area displays the list of the available attributes, based on the list of the Read Mask of the selected type and an additional entry: Display Name. The Display Name matches the object display name as defined in the PLM Access options.

To add an attribute in the Displayed attributes list, select it then click the right arrow (or you can double-click the available attribute).

To remove an attribute from the Displayed attributes list, select it then click the Reset button or the Remove arrow.

Displayed attributes
This area displays the selected attributes.

To reorder the attributes, use the Move Up and Move Down arrows.

Add Text >>
This button enables you to open the Text Definition dialog box and type text.
Display attribute name before its value
This option enables you to display the name of the attribute before its value.

By default, this check box is selected.
