View/Annotation Plane

The View/Annotation Plane options let you customize associativity, display, behaviors of view/annotation plane for 3D Tolerancing & Annotation.

This page discusses:

View from reference

Create views associative to geometry
Creates views associative to the geometry, so that views and their annotations are automatically updated when the geometry is modified.

By default, this check box is selected.

View from Profile

Orientation as unfolded
Creates the offset and aligned section views/cuts with orientation mode for multiplane section views (MPSV).
In this case, the FTA view has an angle orientation. This angle orientation value is equal to the orientation of the first sketch profile line segment with its sketch H axis.
When this check box is cleared, the created section view or section cut continues to have the orientation based on profile definition. That is, its H axis is along the first segment of the FTA MPSV profile.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Filtering View Display with a Capture

During a capture creation
Defines behaviors during capture creation:
Manage the visibility of product components, bodies and geometrical sets
Defines whether the Hide/Show status of component instances, bodies and geometrical sets is stored when creating a capture.
Tip:

The same option is available in the Visualization tab of the capture properties.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Open capture filter once the capture created
Edit the capture by opening the Tolerancing Capture (or Filter) workshop once the capture created.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Create an associated capture with:
Principal view
Creates an associated capture when creating a principal view.

By default, this check box is selected.

Axonometric view
Creates an associated capture when creating an axonometric view.

By default, this check box is selected.

Projection view
Creates an associated capture when creating a projection view.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Section view or Section Cut view
Creates an associated capture when creating a section view or section cut view.

By default, this check box is selected.

During the view activation
When you activate the views with captures, changes appear based on the selection of these options:
Set view capture as current and unset other captures
Sets as current the capture associated with an activated view and, at the same time unsets other captures.

By default, this check box is selected.

Apply first related capture visual filter
Applies to the view its first related capture filter.

By default, this check box is selected.

Apply first related capture view point
Applies to the view its first related capture viewpoint.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Principal View

Change primary view plane
Allows you to change the principal view plane element during the view creation.

By default, this check box is selected.

Resize view box according to 3D model
Resizes the view box once you have selected an element.

By default, this check box is selected.

View/Annotation Plane Display

View axis display
The View axis display contains the following options:
Always hidden
All view/annotation plane axis systems are hidden.
Displayed for current view only
Only the axis system of the active view/annotation plane is displayed.
Displayed for last selected view
Only the axis system of the last selected view/annotation plane, in multi-selection context, is displayed.
Important:

Displayed for last selected option is only effective when 3D Annotation Query Switch On/Switch Off option is on: .

By default, Displayed for last selected view is selected.

Zoomable
Defines whether the annotation plane axis is zoomable.

By default, this check box is selected.

Visualization of the profile in the current view
Defines whether the current section view/annotation plane or section cut/annotation plane profile on the part/product is displayed.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Dimension Default Position Along View Normal

Try to create in the annotation plane (Z=0)
Defines whether the application always tries to create dimension in the plane of the current annotation plane, when dimension definition allows to do it.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Annotation Default Position Along View Normal

Try to create annotation body in the annotation plane (Z=0)
Lets you create the annotation body in the current annotation plane and specify the position of the arrow end of the leader based on the selected option between following:
  • Try to create annotation body in the annotation plane (Z=0): Creates the leader with arrow end at the selection point in the current annotation plane or out of the annotation plane.
  • Try to create leader extremity in limits: Creates the leader with arrow end at specified position with the annotation body created in a specified limit. When current annotation plane is not within the specified limit, a message appears proposing the creation of new annotation plane within the specified limit.

You can specify the required limit in box next to the Try to create leader extremity in limits option. By default, the limit value is 2 mm.

  • Try to create leader extremity in the annotation plane: Creates the annotation body and the leader with its arrow end in the current annotation plane.

By default, this check box is cleared.
