IGES

The IGES options let you customize the import and export of IGES 3D files for Converter for IGES.

This page discusses:

Import

Import mode
Defines the structure of the imported content:
  • To a 3D Part
  • To a product structure

By default, Import mode is set to To 3D Part.

Join
Joins the surfaces of the IGES file into a shell.

By default, Join surfaces of the model is not selected.

Geometry quality enhancement
Checks the quality of the imported geometry and proposes tools to improve it when required.

By default, Allow deformation is not selected, and Maximum shape deformation is not active.

Detection of invalidity in input geometry
Detects invalidity in the imported geometry, within a given Tolerance.

By default, Detection is selected and Tolerance is set to 3 mm.

Representation for boundaries of faces
Defines the representation type of the boundaries of the imported faces:
  • Keep File Preference
  • Force 3D representation

By default, Keep file preference is selected.

Import Groups
Transfer IGES Groups as Selection Sets imports IGES groups (Entity Type 402, Forms 1-7-14-15: Associativity Instance) as Selection Sets.

By default, Transfer IGES Groups as Selection Sets is selected.

Export

Export only shown entities
Defines the content of the export file from the visibility status of the entities.

By default, Export only shown entities is selected.

Export Units as

Defines the unit to be used for export. This unit can be different from the Dassault Systèmes file.

By default, Keep User Unit is selected.

Curve and surface type
Defines how curves and surfaces are generated in the export file:
  • Standard
  • BSpline

By default, Standard is selected.

Representation mode
Defines how entities are represented in the export file.

By default, Surface is selected.

Name of Author
Transfers the name of the author to the export file.

By default, Name of Author is empty.

Author's Organization
Transfers the name of the organization.

By default, Author's Organization is empty.
