Geometry

The geometry options let you customize geometry and color settings for 2D Layout for 3D Design.

This page discusses:

Grid

Range
Select the required range from the list. The following ranges are available:
  • Normal range: Select this option to change the grid characteristics to the normal range.
  • Large range: Select this option to change the grid characteristics to the large range.
  • Extra large range: Select this option to change the grid characteristics to the extra large range.
  • Small range: Select this option to change the grid characteristics to the small range.
When you select this option, the Primary spacing and the Graduations values change accordingly.
Display
Select this check box to display the grid. This option is also available in the View section of the action bar.
Notes: When the sheet frame is displayed in the drawing, the grid is displayed within the sheet frame. When the sheet frame is not displayed in the drawing, the grid is displayed in the entire window.

By default, this check box is selected.

Snap to point
Select this check box if you want geometry (as well as 2D components) to begin or end on the various intersection points of the grid. Note that this option is also available in the Sketch section of the action bar.

By default, this check box is selected.

Allow Distortions
Select this check box to apply different graduations and spacing between H and V.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Primary spacing: H and V
Enter the values of your choice in the H or V boxes to define the horizontal and vertical spacing between the major lines of the grid.

By default, primary spacing is specified to 100 mm.

Graduations: H and V
Enter the values of your choice in the H or V boxes to specify the number of graduations between the major horizontal and vertical lines of the grid, which consists in defining a secondary grid.

By default, graduations are specified to 10.

Geometry

Create associative use-edges
Select this check box if you want to create use-edges that are associative to the reference geometry.
If you leave this check box clear, you can deactivate the Isolate Use-Edge option in the Tools Palette each time you want to create a non-associative use-edge.
Important: The Create associative use-edges option can be locked by the administrator.

By default, this check box is selected.

Colors

Protected elements
Select the color that is used to display associative use-edges.

By default, the color is specified to yellow.
