Natural Sketch: General

The General options let you customize settings for Natural Sketch.

This page discusses:

Navigation

Display navigation pads
Displays the Navigation frame.

By default, this option is selected.

View Type
Displays the View Type section in the Options frame.

By default, this option is selected.

Pencil

This frame lets you define the pencil's pressure.

Activate pressure handling
This option lets you simulate the pressure to modify the opacity and / or the thickness of rough curves.

By default, this option is selected.

Use velocity to simulate pressure
This option lets you simulate the pressure using velocity. The faster you move the graphic pen, the more transparent and / or the thinner the curve.

This option is only available provided the Activate pressure handling option is selected. When it is selected, one of the below option must be selected.

By default, this option is selected.

Use pressure to drive sketch curve's opacity
This option lets you define the opacity of your curve depending on the pressure you apply. The harder the pressure, the more opaque the curve.

This option is only available provided the Activate pressure handling option is selected.

By default, this option is cleared.

Use pressure to drive sketch curve'es thickness
This option lets you define the thickness of your curve depending on the pressure you apply. The harder the pressure, the thicker the curve.

This option is only available provided the Activate pressure handling option is selected.

By default, this option is selected.

Trace

This frame lets you define the trace's pressure.

Use pressure to drive trace curve's opacity
This option lets you define the opacity of your curve depending on the pressure you apply. The harder the pressure, the more opaque the curve.

This option is only available provided the Activate pressure handling option is selected.

By default, this option is cleared.

Use pressure to drive trace curve'es thickness
This option lets you define the thickness of your curve depending on the pressure you apply. The harder the pressure, the thicker the curve.

This option is only available provided the Activate pressure handling option is selected.

By default, this option is selected.

Smooth option for pencil

Pencil smoothing
Defines the level of smoothing of the rough curves. The smoothing can either be very accurate and similar to the original curve, or it can be quite sharp. After tracing your curve, you can also tap the work area to modify the smoothing directly.

By default, it is set to Level 3.

Auto-Match

Auto-Match
Automatically connects curves. When tracing a curve, one of its extremities can be snapped onto any point of another curve, providing the distance and angle between these points are smaller than a threshold defined below.

By default, this option is selected.

Position Matching
Defines a distance tolerance threshold to allow the auto-match. The smaller the distance, the more accurate the match.

By default, this option is set to 15 pixels.

Shape Matching
Defines an angular tolerance threshold to allow the auto-match. The smaller the radius, the more accurate the match.

The continuity degree and type (point continuity or curvature continuity) are defined according to the angle between the tangents at two snapped points.

By default, this option is set to 15 degrees.
