Grid Editors

The Grid Editors options let you customize rendering, scaling, and 3D representation for Manufactured Item Definition.

This page discusses:

Rendering Performance

Animation
This option allows you to enable/disable animation rendering in the Item Editor and System Editor. This includes highlighting of modified objects, rotation animation of the Item tile, and view point animation during item animation.

By default, the option is selected.

3D Nav representations / 3D Shape representations

This option allows you to select either 3D Nav representations or 3D Shape representations as the desired 3D rendering.

Displaying 3D Nav representations instead of 3D Shape representations improves the visualization performance; however, the representation is less detailed.

The 3D Nav representations are those that are automatically generated on the server. However, it can take some time to generate these representations.

Note: The 3D Nav representations that are manually generated using the 2D Thumbnail or 3D Thumbnail Builder command (available in the Others section of the action bar of the various Finder apps) are not taken into account.

By default, the 3D Shape representations option is selected.

Smart Zoom

The Automatic activation option allows you to enable/disable the smart zoom capability in the Item Editor and System Editor.

By default, the option is not selected.

Default View

Select the option:

3D view / Top view

This option allows you to set either the 3D view or top view as the default view when you enter the Item Editor and System Editor.

By default, the 3D view option is selected.

Scale Factor for 3D Representation Above the Title

This option allows you to set the scale factor for the 3D representation on Item and System tiles in the Item Editor and System Editor. This value is the percentage space above the tile that is filled by the 3D representation.

By default, the scale factor is set to 70%. The range of possible values is 60% to 100%.
