Clipping

Default Properties

Plane Color

Sets the default color of the clipping planes.

By default, the color is gray.

Plane Transparency

Sets the default transparency or opacity of the clipping planes.

By default, the value is 50%.

Compute Contour

Computes and activates the clipping contours.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Contour Color

Sets the default color of the contour.

By default, No Color is selected. In this case, the color of the intersecting part is used as the contour color. If no color is selected for the intersecting part, the contour color is set to white.

Contour Thickness

Sets the default value of the contour's thickness.

By default, the value is 1:0.13mm.

Capping Color

Sets the default color of the capping.

By default, No Color is selected. in this case, the color of the intersecting part is used as the capping color. If no color is selected for the intersecting part, the capping color is set to gray.

Normal direction

Lets you specify the direction to which the clipping plane will be normal, during the clipping creation. You can select X, Y, or Z axis, or Automatic.

By default, Automatic is selected. This option chooses the x, y, or z axis automatically as the normal direction depending on your viewing direction.

If the clipping is already created, you have to reopen the product to take into account the modified preference.

Cut wireframe elements

Select this check box to clip the wireframe elements.

By default, this check box is selected.

Manipulation

Snap on geometry (SHIFT toggles)

Select this check box to automatically snap the clipping plane on the element under the pointer during manipulation using the plane resize manipulators.

To toggle this behavior later, press SHIFT.

By default, this check box is selected.

Keep aspect ratio (CTRL toggles)

Select this check box to maintain the aspect ratio while resizing the clipping planes using the plane resize manipulators.

To toggle this behavior later, press CTRL.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Update on Product Structure Modification

Automatically updates the clipping contour and capping when you perform any product modifications such as hiding a product or moving a product interactively.

By default, this check box is selected.
