Searching for Preferences from the Preferences Dialog Box

You can search for preferences to easily identify their location in the Preferences dialog box.

Before you begin:

  • The search is run in the language in which the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is started.
  • The search functionality is available in a session (from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform) or in standalone mode (through CATPreferenceMgt).

  1. From the top bar, select Me > Preferences
  2. In the upper left part of the dialog box, enter your search criteria in the search box, and then click or press Enter.

    Important:
    • You can search for several words or for an exact phrase, for instance: visualization performance. Only results including the exact string are displayed.
    • Clicking the search box lets you display the search history.
    • Wildcards (such as *) are not supported.

Preferences containing the searched text are displayed in the right part of the dialog box. Above each tab name, the full path with the quadrant, solution, and category is provided to help you locate tabs more easily.

    You can:

    • Click the arrow next to the appropriate tab: only the area containing the search result is displayed and the searched text is highlighted.
    • Click next to the path to open the corresponding tab in the right part of the panel. In this case, search results are no longer displayed and the searched text is not highlighted in the tab.

The tree on the left is refreshed and the corresponding quadrant, solution, and category are expanded down to the displayed tab.

  3. To clear search results and go back to normal display, click in the search box.
