General

The General options let you customize the default view looking direction and orientation, structural view properties, ASD viewer, and annotations for Multi-Discipline Drafting.

This page discusses:

Default View Looking Direction

Select a default looking direction for the X, Y, and Z axes.

X direction
Select an option to specify the default view looking for X direction.

By default, the value is X+.

Y direction
Select an option to specify the default view looking for Y direction.

By default, the value is Y+.

Z direction
Select an option to specify the default view looking for Z direction.

By default, the value is Z-.

Default View Looking Orientation

Specify the top and right direction for all the looking directions. These values are used if the orientation is not defined in the view template.

X+
Select an option to specify the default top and right direction for the X+ looking direction.

By default, the value for the top direction is Z+.

X-
Select an option to specify the default top and right direction for the X- looking direction.

By default, the value for the top direction is Z+.

Y+

By default, the value for the top direction is Y-.

Z-
Select an option to specify the default top and right direction for the Z- looking direction.

By default, the value for the top direction is Y+.

Structural View

Default Primary Object Angular Tolerance
Specify the default angular tolerance of the primary object for structural view creation.

Angular tolerance with the view plane to consider during computation of primary object list.

If a structural box is defined, all the intersected panels within the box are considered as primary object, else all the panels that have the same support of the view plane with angular tolerance are considered as primary object.

By default, the value is 15.0.

Use same tolerance for secondary object
Select this check box to use the same primary object tolerance for the secondary object.

By default, this check box is selected.

Default Secondary Object Angular Tolerance
Specify the default angular tolerance of the secondary object for structural view creation.

Secondary Object orthogonal angle with primary object is considered for representation of the secondary object.

This option is available only when the Use same tolerance for secondary object check box is cleared.

By default, the value is 0.0.

Default Secondary Object Representation
Structure Panel
  • Below tolerance

Specify the default secondary object representation for the structure panel.

    By default, Symbolic is selected.

  • Above tolerance

Specify the default secondary object representation for the structure panel.

    By default, Projection is selected.

Crossing Stiffener
  • Below tolerance

Specify the default secondary object representation for the crossing stiffener.

    By default, Symbolic is selected.

  • Above tolerance

Specify the default secondary object representation for the crossing stiffener.

    By default, Symbolic is selected.

Welded Stiffener
Specify the default secondary object representation for weld stiffener.

By default, Symbolic weld is selected.

Default Offsets for Structure Box
Far Side Offset
Specify the default far side offset for the structural box during structural view creation.

By default, the value is 100.

Near Side Offset
Specify the default near side offset for the structural box during structural view creation.

By default, the value is 100.

3D Viewer for Smart View

User Perspective
Select this check box to use the perspective in ASD 3D viewers.

By default, this check box is selected.

Smart Annotations

Node Size
Specify the annotation node size.

This is used in compass, view title, fluidic, and coordinate annotations.

By default, the value is 3.

Node Color
Specify the annotation node color.

This is used in compass, view title, fluidic, and coordinate annotations.

By default, the RGB value is 75, 130, 160.

Allow Diagnostics for Smart Annotations
Select this check box to specify the diagnostics for the annotations.

By default, this check box is selected.

Smart annotations for which last update failed
Specify a color for the annotations if the update is failed.
This option is available only when the Allow Diagnostics for Smart Annotations check box is selected.
