Environment
- Low-light objects not related to ASO
- Selecting this setting enables you to better concentrate on the active simulation
object (ASO) by low-lighting the objects not related to the ASO.
- Allow Design in Context
- If you select this check box, you can click objects under the
Representation node in the tree and enter Part Design or Sketcher
app with
the parts in the simulation context. If you do not select this check box, you enter
these apps in the design context.
- Persist Resource Position
- When you enable this setting, you can save modifications you make to your layout, with
the following exceptions:
- The position changes that occur as part of applying a simulation state.
- Resources attached to another resource do not have their changes saved. For
example, for a robot mounted on a rail, movement to the simulation state does not
save the robot's position. However, you can save the new position of the rail.
- The simulation saves only the base location of resources, but not the position of
the parts. Therefore, you cannot save the changes that are the result of jogging
(which moves only the parts, not the base).
- If a resource is a child of another resource, the simulation does not save the
child position.
- You cannot save changes that occur during coreview.
Note:
If another user locks a position, the system saves your changes
nonetheless.
- Keep Tree Visibility
- Selecting this option keeps the tree visible while you work in 3DSimulation.
- Background
- This option lets you specify which background color to apply inside the Live
Simulation environment.
Note:
It is only available with the Basic ambience.
By default, Low-light objects not related to ASO and Persist Resource Position are selected; Allow Design in Context and Keep Tree Visibility are not.
Immersive Panels
- Group Thumbnails
- You can group the thumbnails (based on selection criteria) or the thumbnails can appear in a
flat list. If you show simulation objects in flat lists, the system sorts them by the
order of creation.
By default, this check box is selected.
Session Save/Restore
- Save on Exit
- When you exit 3D Simulation or when you save the current content while inside the 3D Simulation environment, you may save your session settings. The session settings include the
ASO, the same products and resources to be shown in their previous positions and with
the previous graphical properties, the same browser panel to be active, and the same
viewpoint. In addition, you may want the panel and thumbnail groupings and appearances
to remain the same. You can choose among the following session settings:
- Disabled: the session settings are not saved
- On demand: you are prompted as you leave a session to
choose to save the session
- Enabled: the session settings are always saved.
By default, Disabled is selected. - Restore on Entry
- When you open a session of 3D Simulation, you have the setting of restoring previous session settings you have saved. You can choose among the following settings:
- Disabled: the session settings are not restored. If the content you are
opening in 3D Simulation environment contains a session state, this state is not automatically deleted
from the data. Therefore, the content is not modified when you open it.
- On demand: you are prompted as you enter a session to choose to restore the previously saved session settings (if a state was stored in the data set). You
are also given the option of deleting the session state.
- Enabled: the session settings are always restored from their previous state.
By default, Disabled is selected for both settings.
State Management
Select an option for Apply Context:
- Global (all)
- When you select this option, you apply a state to the entire scenario.
By default, this option is selected. - ASO
- When you select a state, a state is applied to the active simulation object (ASO) only.
By default, this option is not selected.
Select the desired option for Apply scope:
- Nominal + Overloads
- When you select this option, you apply a state to both the nominal content and overloads.
By default, this option is selected. - Overloads only
- When you select a state, you apply a state to overloads only.
By default, this option
is not selected.
You can also select any of the options:
- Apply position
- When you select this option, you apply the position within the state.
- Apply color/opacity
- When you select a state, you apply the color and opacity defined within the state.
- Apply visibility
- When you select a state, you apply the visibility defined within the state.
- Apply viewpoint
- When you select a state, you apply the viewpoint defined within the state.
- Apply active state during simulation
- When you select a state, you apply the active state during the simulation.
- Keep state information in session after creation/modification
- State information remains accessible in the session after you create or modify the state.
- Set state active after creation/modification
- If you select this option, when you create or modify a state, that state becomes the active
state until you explicitly change the active state.
By default, Apply position, Apply color/opacity, Apply visibility, Apply viewpoint, and Apply active state during simulation selected.
