Clash Analysis

The Clash Analysis options let you customize how the clash appears in your simulations.

Graphic Feedback Mode

Highlight
When you select Highlight, the object in clash is highlighted.
Collision Curves
When you select Collision Curve, the area on the part in clash that is in collision is highlighted on the part.
Color
Color the parts that are in Clash, Contact, Clearance.
When you select Apply custom color on moving object, the specified color is applied to the moving object in the Track Analysis Assistant.
Tabular clash results display
When you select Tabular clash results display, dynamic clash results display in a tabular format.

By default, Highlight is checked; Collision Curve is cleared; Apply custom color on moving object is cleared; Tabular clash results display is cleared.

Memory Management

You can increase the amount of memory used to increase the speed by choosing among the four amounts of memory. When selecting the amount of memory, keep in mind that high memory use can have a problematic impact on other applications. Select a setting:

Minimum
Selecting this setting means you use the least memory and see clash detection run as slowly as possible, but have the least impact on other applications.
Low
Selecting this setting means you use a small amount of memory, see clash detection run slowly, and have little impact on other applications.
Medium
Selecting this setting means you use a medium amount of memory, see clash detection run at a moderate speed, and have some potential impact on other applications.
High
Selecting this setting means you use a large amount of memory, detect clashes at the fastest speed, and have the most risk of the memory use affecting on other applications.

By default, High is selected.

Detection

Clash
When you select Clash, the simulation responds when two objects share the same space, that is, are in clash.
Contact
When you select Contact, the simulation responds when two objects come into contact.
Inclusion
When you select Inclusion, when an object completely within another object the system reports it as in clash with the surrounding object. If you clear the Inclusion check box, then clash is not reported when one object is included within another.

By default, Clash and Inclusion are checked; Contact is cleared.

Warning

Report Warnings
When you select Report Warnings, it works along with the inclusion detection mode, and notifies the user of geometry-related issues that may affect the clash results.

By default, Report Warnings is cleared.
