Output

The Output options let you customize output settings for Machining Apps Common Services.

This page discusses:

Post Processor Folder and Controller Emulator Folder

Post Processor and Controller Emulator:

Note: You can override the Post Processor and Controller Emulator provider options selected below in the Numerical Control tab of the individual machines.
  • None: No Post Processor is defined. NC code output is not possible in this case.
  • Cenit:

Generates the NC code using Cenit Post-Processor Solution files.

    • Sample Cenit Post Processor parameter files are delivered with the product in the folder:
       \Startup\Manufacturing\PPPar
    • They provide NC output for various machine types.
    • You can use PPs that include external macros.
      • Define them in the PP in:
Modify postprocessor // Define NC-blocks // Index : MACRO APT WORDS
      • and copy these macros in the same folder as the PP.

  • IMS:

Generates the NC code using Intelligent Manufacturing Software (IMS) Post Processor files.

    • Sample IMS Post Processor parameter files are delivered with the product in the folder:
       \Startup\Manufacturing\IMSPar
    • They provide NC output for various machine types.
    • The IMSPar folder must be accessible in Read/Write mode.

  • ICAM:

Generates the NC code using ICAM Technologies Corporation (ICAM) Post Processor files.

    • Sample ICAM Post Processor parameter files are delivered with the product in the folder:
       \Startup\Manufacturing\ICAMPar
    • They provide NC output for various machine types.

  • ICAM Foundation:

Generates the NC code using ICAM Technologies Corporation (ICAM) Post Processor files.

    • Sample ICAM Foundation Post Processor parameter files are delivered with the product in the folder:
       \Startup\Manufacturing\ICAMFoundationPar
    • They provide NC output for various 2 and 3 axis machine types. They also allow creation of the PP as per the user’s machine specifications.
  • My Post

Generates the NC code using your own Post Processor files.

  • My CE

Generates the NC code using your own Control Emulator files.

Configuration file(s)
Lets you define the path of the folder containing configuration files in XML format. You can select more than one file.

A file in XSD format that defines the rules to create an XML file is available in:

\startup\Manufacturing\Samples\MyPost

PP Path
Lets you define the path of the folder containing Post Processors. File concatenation is possible.
CE Path
Lets you define the path of the folder containing Controller Emulators.

Contact your Sales representative for information about how to acquire Post Processor parameters files that provide machine specific to NC code output.

By default, this check box is selected.

Tool Path Edition

Edit Tool Path is available
When selected, lets you edit the tool path.

By default, this check box is selected.

During Tool Path Computation

Store contact points in tool path
When selected, lets you store contact points in the tool path.
Note: Performance is improved when this check box is not selected.

By default, this check box is selected.

Tool Output Point

Select the required option to select one of the following as output point:

  • Tool Tip
  • Tool Center Point
  • Tool Center Point for Ball-end Tools (that is, any tool with the Ball-end tool option selected or an end mill whose nominal diameter is equal to twice the corner radius).

Note: Performance is better when the Tool Tip option is selected.

By default, this check box is selected.

Tool Path Pack

Pack tool path automatically after computation
Activates the Pack tool path automatically after computation.

By default, this check box is cleared.

NC Code Output

Extension
Configures the extension of NC Code output.

By default, this check box is cleared.

The suffix used is CATNCCode.
APT file types to be Post-Processed
Specifies the different file extensions of the APT files (separated by semicolons) to be processed.
Container Export Path
Configures the default path to be used for exporting the contents of NC Files Container.

NC Code Output Errors and Warnings

Stop generation if number of Errors is more than
Stops the NC Code output generation if number of errors exceeds the specified value.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Stop generation if number of Warnings is more than
Stops the NC Code output generation if number of warnings exceeds the specified value.

By default, this check box is cleared.
