Documentation

The documentation options let you customize the documentation process for Electrical Manufacturing Preparation.

This page discusses:

Scale Algorithm for Segments

Manages the display of segments in the sheet.

Not to scale
Dimensions of the segments are kept and the view is reduced to fit in the sheet.
Scale
Dimensions of the segments are scaled and the view is reduced to fit in the sheet.

By default, this check box is selected.

Scaling formula
When the Scale option is selected, defines how the scale is calculated.
  • Logarithmic: Segments are logarithmically scaled. Long segments are scaled down more than the short segments.

By default, this check box is selected.

  • Linear: The segments are scaled linearly.
  • Equal: The same size is applied to all segments.

Dimension

Defines how the dimensions of the content are calculated.

Protection
  • None: Protections are not dimensioned.
  • Protection start: The start point of a protection is used to calculate the protection dimensions.

By default, this check box is selected.

  • Protection center: The center point of a protection is used to calculate the protection dimensions.
Support
  • None: Supports are not dimensioned.
  • Support start: The start point of a support is used to calculate the protection dimensions.

By default, this check box is selected.

  • Support center: The center point of a support is used to calculate the protection dimensions.
Mechanical part
Publish point: Published points of a mechanical part are used to calculate the mechanical part dimensions. If the option is cleared, dimensions are not calculated.

By default, this check box is selected.

Rounding dimension value
Defines how the dimensions are rounded off.
  • Closest 1: All dimensions are rounded off to the closest upper value. For example, 143.4 is rounded up to 144.
  • Closest 5: All dimensions are rounded off to the closest multiple of 5. For example, 143.4 is rounded up to 145.
  • Closest 10: All dimensions are rounded off to the closest multiple of 10. For example, 143.4 is rounded down to 140.

By default, this check box is selected.

Check all components are pointed by an electrical dimension at the end of process
Checks and validates that dimensions are calculated for every component. If a component has no dimensions, a message appears in the Report box of the Documentation process panel.

By default, this check box is selected.

Line-Up dimension
Creates horizontal dimensions instead of inclined dimensions for better aesthetics when you create documentation. The vertical dimensions remain vertical.

By default, this check box is selected.

Generative View Style

File selection
Enables to select the GVS file used to customize the drawing generated at the end of the documentation process.
