Display

The Display options let you customize default graphic properties, display of non-semantic annotation, annotation grid, annotation in tree, element analysis, restricted area, annotation parameters in tree, surface normal, annotation geometry, clipping plane and capture, for 3D Tolerancing & Annotation.

Default graphic properties

Construction Geometry
Apply Graphic Properties
Defines whether all graphic properties for constructed geometry are applied.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Fill
Color
Defines the color for constructed geometry.
the black color is selected.
Transparency
Defines the transparency for constructed geometry.
the value is 128.
Edges
Color
Defines the color of edges for constructed geometry.
the black color is selected.
Linetype
Defines the linetype of edges for constructed geometry.
the linetype is 4 (Dot-Dashed).
Thickness
Defines the thickness of edges for constructed geometry.
the thickness is 1 (very thin line).
Lines and Curves
Color
Defines the color of lines and curves for constructed geometry.
the black color is selected.
Linetype
Defines the line type of lines and curves for constructed geometry.
the linetype is 4 (Dot-Dashed).
Thickness
Defines the thickness of lines and curves for constructed geometry. By default, the thickness is 1 (very thin line).

Restricted Area
Apply Graphic Properties

Grid

Display
Defines whether the grid is displayed.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Allow Distortions
Defines whether grid spacing and graduations are the same horizontally and vertically.

By default, this check box is cleared.

H Primary spacing
Defines the grid horizontal spacing.

By default, the value is:

  • 1 mm for Small range
  • 100 mm for Normal range
  • 1e+004 mm for Large range

H Graduations
Defines the grid horizontal graduations.

By default, the number of graduation is 10 for any range.

V Primary spacing
Defines the grid vertical spacing.
Important:

Only applicable when Allow Distortions is selected.

By default, the value is:

  • 1 mm for Small range
  • 100 mm for Normal range
  • 1e+004 mm for Large range

V Graduations
Defines the grid vertical graduations.
Important:

Only applicable when Allow Distortions is selected.

By default, the number of graduation is 10 for any range.

Non-Semantic

Mark non-semantic annotations
Defines whether non-semantic annotations (datum elements, datum targets, geometrical tolerances, linear, and angular dimensions) are marked with a wavy red line in the tree and in the geometry.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Switch off text, Flag Note, NOA marking
Defines whether text, flag notes, and NOA markings are marked as non-semantic annotations. When selected, the text, flag notes, and NOA markings are not marked with a wavy red line. You can select the Switch off text, Flag Note, NOA marking check box when the Mark non-semantic annotations check box is selected.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Switch off weld marking
Lets you display the weld annotations without wavy red lines. You can select this check box when the Mark non-semantic annotations check box is selected.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Switch off surface texture marking
Lets you display the surface texture symbols without wavy red lines. You can select this check box when the Mark non-semantic annotations check box is selected.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Switch off edge of undefined shape marking
Lets you display the annotation on the edge of an undefined shape without a wavy red line. You can select this check box when the Mark non-semantic annotations check box is selected.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Tree

Track history of displayed views and captures
Defines whether browsing history of views and captures is displayed in the tree. When selected, each browsed view or capture remains identified using a purple background in the Specification Tree.
Important:

If you clear this check box, it does not reset the current history of views and captures.

By default, this check box is selected.

Under Geometric Feature nodes
Defines that 3D annotations should be displayed under the geometric feature nodes in the specification tree. This lets you view 3D annotations under the Part Design or Generative Shape Design feature nodes to which they are applied.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Under View/Annotation Plane nodes
Defines that 3D annotations should be displayed under the view/annotation plane nodes in the specification tree. This lets you view 3D annotations under the view node to which they are linked.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Under Annotations Set node
Defines that 3D annotations should be displayed under the annotation set node in the specification tree.
Important:

Only applicable when Under View/Annotation Plane nodes is selected.

By default, this check box is selected.

Elements Analysis colors

Activate elements' analysis colors
Click Configure... button to define in Element's Analysis dialog box how to display dimensions using different colors according to their types (true dimensions, invalid dimensions, etc.).

By default, this check box is selected.

Sectioning Properties

Background color

Defines the background color of the section.

From face
Defines background color of the section from the face.

A same color as that of the face is applied to the section.

Custom
Lets you manually define the background color of the section.

By default, Custom is selected.

Pattern

Defines the pattern for the section.

None
No pattern is applied to the section.
Material
Defines the pattern from the material used.

By default, None is selected.

Apply only to active product
Applies material only to the elements, which are under the active product.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Annotation Parameters

Display parameters under annotation feature node
Defines that knowledge parameters (such as tolerance values, datum label, etc.) of annotations should be displayed under the annotation feature node in the tree; also defines that feature parameters of dimensions (accessible through the Edit Generative Parameter command) should be displayed under the dimension feature node in the tree.

Note that to have the value of the parameters displayed in the tree, you need to select the With value knowledge setting.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Surface Normal

Display for shifted profile tolerance
Defines whether the normal of all the selected surfaces are displayed, or not, when a shifted profile tolerance is specified or queried.

By default, this check box is cleared.

3D Annotation Query

Allow query for default annotation (automatic selection mode)
Defines whether the highlight for geometric element involved in default annotation is allowed with 3DMaster query .

By default, this check box is selected.

Capture display

Mirror annotations
Defines whether annotations are automatically mirrored when displaying a capture.

By default, this check box is selected.

Reframe margin
Lets you specify the margin area percentage while reframing the capture display.

By default, the reframe margin is 5%.
