FBDI/DBDI Preferences

The FBDI/DBDI Preferences options let you customize the import of V5 run, path reservation and item reservation for Piping & Tubing Design.

This page discusses:

Import V5 Run/Path Reservation/Item Reservation as

This option allows you to convert or not a run, an item reservation, or a path reservation in a route or in a solid geometry. Select the desired option:

Nothing
The object is not converted.
Solid Rep
A product and a representation are created and the representation contains the solid geometry of the run.
Create Rigid Route
The object is converted into a rigid route with the same nodes and end connection.

Object creation method for parts while import

This option allows you to choose wether you want to use the part subtype table while importing a 3D part, or import the 3D part with the Miscellaneous type.

Use Sub Part Type Table
The Part Subtype table is used and the 3D part is created with the strong type mentioned in the table. The table must be created and assigned in the Data Setup. The V5 Part Type is used to search the matching value in the 1st column of the Part Subtype table and the corresponding behavior class is applied as type. If no matching value has been found, the FBDI/DBDI fails.
Note: As the part comes from V5 data, the value in the Part Subtype table must be the NLS name of the type class.
Miscellaneous
The 3D part is created with the Miscellaneous type.
