Network

The Network options let you customize Communication and Co-review Settings.

This page discusses:

Communication

Running mode
Running has two options:
  • Local Area Network Mode :

To activate Local Area Network Mode, click Local Area Network from Running Mode combo in the Preferences panel.

Note: By default, this option is activated.

LAN Connection only works when users are in the same sub network. It cannot be used when users are in different sub networks.

    This is a permanent restriction.

Important: In the case of multiple network adapters active at the same time (for example, Ethernet with any hardware or software seen as a network adapter):

    1. Set an environment variable on the client, pointing a text file that defines on which adapter (that must support TCP and UDP protocol) you want to enable communication.
    2. Create a file containing the following lines (the file must end with a new line):
CATP2PTCPEndPoint| "IP Address of the Adapter" |0
CATP2PMultiCastEndPoint| "IP Address of the Adapter" |0
    3. Add the following variable in the environment file: CATP2PConfig="path and filename of the previously created file"

  • Client/Server Mode:

To activate Client/Server Mode, click Client/Server Mode from Running Mode in the Preferences.

If you select the Client/Server Mode, Microsoft Lync Server 2013 is used.

Note: If you change the running mode, make sure to restart the Rich client.

Co-review settings

Activate Co-Review Optimization for network with high latency

From the Activate Co-Review Optimization for network with high latency option, select Yes.

If the high latency is activated, the number of data sent to the observer decreases.
