Graphic Properties

The Colors options let you customize the colors of a feature.

Default graphic properties

When editing 3D-Shape Properties : Default graphic properties are editable
Lets you edit the default graphic properties while editing 3D shape properties.

By default, this option is selected.

Color Edition Frame
You can select one of the available themes, each containing a set of default graphic properties or create your own set of customized default graphic properties.
Themes
Lets you choose a set of default graphic properties for different features:
  • V5: Select this theme to use V5 colors for wire, point, surface, volume and solid features on new 3D Shape.
  • Custom: Select this theme to create your own customized set of graphic properties for wire, point, surface, volume and solid features on new 3D Shape.

You can click on the different graphic properties to edit them.

  • 3DEXPERIENCE Black: Select this theme if you want to use V6 colors for Wire, Point, Surface, Volume, and Solid features on a new 3D Shape. The default color for wires and points will be set to black.
  • 3DEXPERIENCE White: Select this theme if you want to use V6 colors for Wire, Point, Surface, Volume, and Solid features on a new 3D Shape. The default color for wires and points will be set to white.

Color on import Management

This section describes the various options available in the Color On Import Management area.

You can choose whether or not to import graphic properties on the feature which is imported using As Result or As Result With Link. Graphic properties include color and opacity.

Select the All Colors: each color visible in 3D is reported on its corresponding face check box so that the imported feature inherits all the graphic properties on the reference feature on all the corresponding faces.

Note: If once selected while performing import with As Result With Link, the graphic properties of the resultant part cannot be removed or reset. However, you can change these by imposing new graphic properties.

Manage the color transfer
The Color Inheritance Management options let you control how 3D shapes are colored.
Color of features
Select this check box to inherit the graphic properties of the reference feature on the imported feature.
Color of overloaded faces
Select this check box to inherit the graphic properties of the reference feature on the overloaded faces of the imported feature.

By default, both the check boxes are cleared.

When editing 3D-shape properties
Select the Color on import management property is editable check box to make the color on import management options editable.

Color inheritance management

This area contains an options to manage color inheritance when the part is created under an ordered geometry set.

Surface based color
Lets you manage the propagation of the absorbing features. You can select one of the following options:

  • Propagate from sub elements and input features: When a surface based feature is created, color and opacity from its inputs and its sub elements are propagated to this feature.
  • Propagate from sub elements and main input: When a surface based feature is created, color and opacity from its main input (if any) and its inputs sub elements are propagated to this feature.
Note: The main input is a linear concept and only applies if the feature is in an ordered set.
  • Propagate from main input: When a surface based feature is created, color and opacity from its main input (if any) are propagated.

By default, the Propagate from sub elements and main input option is selected.

Hide/Show for review mode

This area describes an option available in the Hide/ Show for Review area.

When reviewing a product, you may need to hide parts. In this case, selecting this check box prevents the model from any modifications. Thus, there is no need to save the model.

Notes:
  • If you hide objects in a part or product with this check box selected, close it, and open later with this check box cleared, the objects hidden originally will change to show mode. However, if you select this check box and open the file, the hide states are retained.
  • Any design modification will permanently apply the current hide/show modification to the model. Any hide/show modification after a design modification will also be permanently applied to the model.
  • Modifying this option requires a session restart.
