Marker

The Marker options let you customize the default properties of the marker.

Default Graphic Properties

3D Marker

Allows you to choose a 3D marker. Available options:

2D Marker

Allows you to choose a 2D marker. Available options:

Fill
Displays a background color behind the marker.
  • Color
    Sets the default color for the marker background.
  • Fill type
    Allows you to select a fill type:
    • Solid
      Select this option to activate solid fill color.
    • Gradient
      Select this option to display a gradient background fill.
    • Shape
      Select this option to activate Scalable Vector Graphics fill.
  • Transparency
    Sets the transparency level of the fill. This slider gets activated after selecting the Fill check box.
Edges
Displays the options for edges.
  • Color
    Sets the default color for the edge.
  • Thickness
    Allows you to choose a thickness.
  • Type
    Allows you to choose the type.
Leader

Adds a default leader to the markers.

Text

Adds a default leader to the markers.

  • Color
    Sets the default color of the text.
  • Font Type
    Allows you to choose the font type.
  • Font Size
    Sets the default font size.

General

Use last modified graphic properties at marker creation
Allows you to store the graphic properties information for each marker individually.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Snap 3D Marker (Shift toggle)
Toggles the snapping behavior of 3D markers.

When the check box is cleared, the 3D marker is snapped on different objects as follows:

  • Circular curve: The marker is snapped tangent to the circle at the selected point. If you press Shift, the marker is snapped perpendicular to the circle plane, pointing the center of the circle.
  • Revolution surfaces: The marker is snapped perpendicular to the plane which is tangent to the revolution surface at the selected point. If you press Shift, the marker is snapped perpendicular to the plane of the circular curve, pointing the center of the circle.
  • During creation, the arrow can be freely dragged. If you press Shift, the marker is snapped to its axis.
  • During modification, the marker can be manipulated freely using the first and last point handles. If you press Shift, the marker is snapped to its axis.

Selecting the check box reverses the above snapping behaviors.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Edit Label Marker graphical properties
Lets you edit the graphic properties of label markers.

Notes:
  • If this check box is selected, the modified graphic properties are kept after updating the marker.
  • If this check box is cleared, the modified graphic properties are replaced by the default ones after updating the marker.

Zoom Mode for 3D picture and text markers
Associates text, label, picture, and stamp markers with zooming. If this check box is selected, whenever you zoom in or zoom out, the markers are also zoomed in or zoomed out accordingly.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Save mode for hyperlink and audio markers
  • Keep a Link: creates a link between the marker and the document.
  • Import as a Document: imports the document in a DOC format and saves it.
  • Embed: embeds the file in the marker feature.
Save mode for picture markers
  • Keep a Link: creates a link between the picture marker and the picture document.
  • Embed: embeds the image in the picture marker feature.
Create positional link for 3D marker bodies

Allows you to associate the body of 3D markers with leaders to an object.

By default, this check box is cleared.

Icon Ratio to Text Size for text markers

Allows you to change the default value of the icon ratio. You can enter any value ranging from 1 to 10.

By default, the value 2 is set in the Ratio to text size box.

Associative View Picture

You can select these line choices:

  • Has a Border - Has a border around the line.

    By default, this check box is selected.

  • Border Color - Selecting this option, you can change the color of the line.
    • Border Line width - Selecting this option, you can change the default width of the line.
    • Border Line type - Selecting this option, you can change the line type of the line.
  • Has a Leader - This selects the type of the leader lines end.
    • Leader End - Select the type of the leader end.
