Modifying Visual Options

A set of commands enables you to modify the visual aspect of your Product Finder.

This task shows you how to:

Modify the Navigation Mode

You can choose between two navigation modes: Turntable mode and In-place mode.

  • When Turntable mode is activated, all expanded parts are presented on a turntable that regroups all parts having a common parent.
  • When In-place mode is activated, the root part is integrally assembled in the 3D, even though the structure is being expanded in the tree.

  1. From the View section of the action bar, click Swap Turntable/In-place .
The icon appearance changes to activated (Turntable mode).
  2. Expand a branch of thetree or double-click a part in the 3D.
The part is expanded. In the 3D, the first-level components of the part appear together on a dedicated turntable. You can drag the mouse on a turntable to rotate the turntable content.
  3. Click Swap Turntable/In-place again.
The icon changes back to indicate that it is not activated (In-place mode).
  4. Expand a branch of the tree.
The branch of the tree is expanded one level. However, in the 3D, the root assembly remains in-place.

Tip: You can press the F9 key to toggle the Navigation mode.
Warning: In the In-place mode, the Representation geometry and position are displayed on a turntable. Any default 3D Thumbnails are removed. If no Representation geometry exists, then an empty turntable is displayed.

Text View

Text View enables you to see textual information for selected objects.

  1. Select an object in the tree or in the 3D.
  2. From the View section of the action bar, click Text View .
The labels associated to the selected part are displayed.

Note: The command will not work if you select more than 50 objects under the root product.
