About Advanced Resource Management

Resources Managers have visibility into enterprise-wide project resources that can help them make informed resource assignments and productivity decisions. These resources can extend from a few months to as long as a year or more.

A Resource Manager is assigned to a business unit in Collaboration and Approvals. These business units or resource pools become visible to the specified Resource Manager. Resource pools provide visibility into and access to tools that manage project resource requests, make project assignments, and produce management reports.

Resource requests are expressed in FTE (Full Time Equivalent) values. The default FTE value = 1 full time person. However, there is no limit to the number of resource for each request. For example, a Project Lead can request an FTE of 4, meaning 4 resources for the time period. This can be accomplished by 4 full time resources or 8 part time resources. The Resource Manager and Project Lead must determine how to fulfill the request.
