Project Status Dashboard

The project status dashboard provides graphical representation of crucial details related to project scheduling. It gives project members insight into the project schedule, and assists in making decisions.

The project status dashboard has two tabs with project information:

Schedule Status
Business Status

To access the dashboard, from the Compass, click Social and Collaborative Apps  > Project Management. Then click a project name in the list.

Schedule Status Tab

The Schedule Status tab offers detailed information about the project's schedule. The data displayed is intended to assist project leads and members in taking required actions quickly. Time increments, such as days or hours, are determined by the start and end dates.

Below are the views under the Schedule Status tab:


View	Description
Project Status	The overall project status is shown in a series of tiles. At the bottom of each tile is a color bar indicating the status, as explained below. On premises only: Overloaded members are calculated using the Weekly/Monthly interval in the emxProgramCentral.TileStatus.MemberInterval setting in the emxProgramCentral.properties file. Progress - A percentage representing the project’s level of completion. The next line shows the project's status based on the project dates: On Time (green) (slip days = 0), Delayed (orange) (slip days > 0 and <= 5 ), or Late (red) (slip days >5). Slipped By - The number of business days by which the project is late. The next line displays the label "Days." The status color can be green (slip days = 0), red (slip days > 5), or orange (slip days > 0 and < 5). Late Tasks - The percentage of late tasks in the task structure. The next line shows the number of late summary tasks falling on the project’s critical path. The status color can be green (late task percent = 0), orange (late task percent > 0 and critical tasks = 0), or red (late task percent > 0 and critical late tasks > 0). Members - The number of members overloaded. The next line displays the label "Overloaded." The status color can be green (none overloaded) or red (overloaded members > 0). Milestones - The percentage of completed milestones. The next line shows the number of milestones that missed the finish date. The status color can be green (the last milestone was finished on time) or red (the last milestone was not finished on time). Budget - The percentage of the budget consumed. The next line displays the label "Consumed". The status color can be green (budget consumed <= 100%), red (budget consumed > 110%), or orange (budget consumed > 100% and <= 110%). Risk - The percentage of risks with high RPN values. Only non-completed risks are counted. The next line displays the label "Severe". The status color can be green (severe risk percent = 0 % and total project risks = 0), orange (severe risk percent = 0 % but total project risks > 0), or red (severe risk percent > 0). Issue - The percentage of issues opened with high priority or an urgent flag. The next line displays the label "Severe". The status color can be green (issue percent = 0 % and total project issues = 0), orange (issue percent =0 % but total project issues > 0), or red (issue percent > 0%). Note: Market Registration displays all of the same tiles under the Project Status heading except Budget, because it is not relevant in the context of Market Registration submission projects.
Top Level Tasks	This is a bar chart shows summary tasks based on their completion status. Completion status is categorized as: Pending. A task is pending if the task estimated finish date is greater than the system date, and the task is active and started on time. Overdue. A task is overdue if the system date is greater than the task estimated finish date. Late Start. A task has a late start if the task estimated finish date is greater than the system date, and the task is active and started late. Completed. A task in the complete state.
All Tasks	The pie chart displays the percentage distribution of all leaf tasks based on their states. Each sector in the chart displays the percentage of leaf tasks in a particular state. The Idle sector in the pie displays the combined percentage distribution of the tasks that are in the Create or Assign states. Each horizontal bar represents the number of leaf tasks based on their status. The links at the bottom for This Week, This Month, Next 30 Days, and Overdue open the list of tasks due in that time frame in the Gantt Chart section.
Tasks with Deliverables	The pie chart displays the percentage distribution of the deliverables based on the state of the tasks to which deliverables are attached. Each sector in the chart displays the percentage of deliverables in a particular state. The Idle sector in the pie displays the combined percentage distribution of the deliverable tasks that are attached to tasks in the Preliminary or Ready states. Each horizontal bar represents the total number of deliverable tasks based on the status of tasks to which deliverables are attached. The links at the bottom for This Week, This Month, Next 30 Days, and Overdue open the list of deliverables due in that time frame in the Gantt Chart section.
Critical Tasks	The pie chart displays the percentage distribution of all critical leaf tasks based on their states. Each sector in the chart displays the percentage of critical tasks in a particular state. The Idle sector in the pie displays the combined percentage distribution of the tasks that are in Preliminary or Ready states. Each horizontal bar represents the number of critical tasks based on their status. See the Top Level tasks view for different task status details. The links at the bottom for This Week, This Month, Next 30 Days, and Overdue open the list of critical tasks due in that time frame in the Gantt Chart section.
Gantt Chart	By default, the Gantt chart shows all summary tasks in the project. The Gantt chart view is also used to display the objects that are selected from these other views: Top Level Tasks, All Tasks, Deliverables, and Critical Tasks. Click any status bar and the corresponding list of tasks displays in the Gantt chart. The timeline section displays the timeline of the due tasks. Each task row has two horizontal bars. One displays the planned timeline of the task. The other displays the actual timeline of the task. The color of horizontal bars helps in identifying the task status. Right-click a task name and select Open in new tab to view task details in a new tab.
Burn Down	This view displays the measurable progress of the project over time. It can be used to help predict the actual completion of the project.

Business Status Tab

The Business Status tab offers risk, budget, benefit, and assessment information about the project.

For Budget & Benefit charts, there are only two curves: planned and actual. The planned curve shows estimated values when the budget/benefit state becomes "plan frozen".


View	Description
Risk Grid	The grid categorizes all active risks in different (colored) zones based on risk priority number. Below is an explanation of how the grid categorizes the project risks based on their RPN values: red = RPN >=15 yellow = RPN >6 green = all else Note: yellow = RPN if Impact value is "High" and Probability value is "Rare." If a risk has a huge impact and high chance of occurrence then it is considered a High Level risk, and in the grid it falls in the red zone. If a risk has low impact and rare chance of occurrence then it is considered a Low Level risk, and falls in the yellow zone. All other risks with RPNs show in green. Click any cell containing a number to view a summary list of those risks in the Details section. Click Details to open the section.
Opportunity Grid	This grid identifies and rates corporate or project-level benefits in the execution of a project. The RPN value represents the OPN, which is computed as the product of the Impact and Probability. RPN values can range from 1 - 5, with 5 indicating the best overall opportunity. Impact indicates the significance of the opportunity. Probability indicates the probability of accomplishing the opportunity. Click any cell containing a number to view a summary list of those opportunities in the Details section. Click Details to open the section. The grid categorizes project opportunities based on the following OPN values: light orange = OPN >=15 medium orange = OPN >=8 dark orange = all else Note: A medium orange OPN indicates an Impact value of "Negligible" and Probability of "Almost Certain."
Issues	The pie chart displays the percentage distribution of the issues based on the state of the issues. Each sector in the chart displays the percentage of issues in a particular state. The Idle sector in the pie displays the combined percentage distribution of the issues that are in the Create and Assign states. Each horizontal bar represents the total number of issues based on the status of issues. The issue status is categorized as Pending, Overdue, Late Start, and Completed. Clicking a status bar lists those issues in the Details tab. The links at the bottom for This Week, This Month, Next 30 Days, and Overdue open the list of issues due in that time frame in the Gantt Chart section.
Details	Shows a summary list of risks, opportunities, or issues, as selected above. Click Details to open this section. For risks, these columns are shown: Name, Status, Affected Items, Title, State, RPN, Impact, Probability, Effective Date, Slip Days, Start Date, End Date, and Assignees. Click the name of a risk to see its details in a new browser tab. For opportunities, these columns are shown: Name, Status, Affected Items, Title, State, Opportunity Type, Estimated Benefit, OPN, and Impact. Click the name of an opportunity to see its details in a new browser tab. For issues, these columns are shown: Name, Status, Reported Against, Priority, Type, Description, State, Escalation Required, Estimates Start and Finish Dates, Actual Start and Finish Dates, and Owner. The list includes issues of the current project as well as subprojects. Click an issue name or any reported against item to see details in a new browser tab.
Budget	The Budget chart shows the periodic trend of the Planned Budget, Estimated Budget, and how the Budget is spent. In this chart: The vertical axis represents the budget spent. The amount spent is shown in the user's preferred currency. The horizontal axis represents the budget timeline intervals. The interval type is decided by the length of the budget timeline. For a Phase interval type, the horizontal axis represents the "name of the phase". If the budget duration is less than 175 days, and, if the budget is created with a Weekly interval, the X-axis intervals have Weekly fiscal intervals, and the financial data is displayed in fiscal weeks. If the duration is >=175 days and <750 days, and, if the budget is created with a Weekly or Monthly interval, the X-axis intervals show Monthly fiscal intervals, and the financial data is displayed in fiscal months. If the duration is >=750 days and <2250 days, the X-axis intervals show Quarterly fiscal intervals, and the financial data is displayed in fiscal quarters. If the duration is >=2250 days, the X-axis intervals show Yearly fiscal intervals, and the financial data is displayed in fiscal years.
Benefit	The Benefit chart shows the periodic trend of Planned Benefit, Estimated Benefit, and how the benefit is earned. In this chart: The vertical axis represents the benefit amount earned. The amount earned is shown in the user's preferred currency. The horizontal axis represents the monthly intervals. Check the Budget section for details on X-Axis intervals.
Assessments	The Assessments chart shows the summary of project assessments over a period of time. You can hover over the icons to see the assessment date and comments. In this chart: The horizontal axis represents the time intervals when an assessment was done. The vertical axis represents the factors on which the assessment is based. Colored bullets represent the status of each factor in the assessment.
