Project Template Versions Page

Project template versions identify, manage, and distribute refinements to project templates based on lessons learned and other updates. The versions page lists the template's active and inactive versions, along with the revision identifier, lifecycle state, and estimated duration.

To access this page:

  1. List all project templates. See Project Templates Page.
  2. From the Project Templates page, click the Name of the template.
  3. In the navigation pane, click Versions.

This topic describes:

Field Name Description
Name The name of the project template.
Revision The version identifier.
Owner The owner of the template version. The original project template owner will become a co-owner for any project template versions created by the co-owner.
State The lifecycle state of the version. There is only one "Active" version at a time; all other versions are "Inactive."
Estimated Duration The estimated duration of the project template version.
Description The description of the project template version.

Revise Creates a new version. The last project template version is used in creating the next version. The last project template version then becomes "Inactive." Only an "Active" project template can be versioned. --
Remove Selected Removes one or more selected project template versions.
  • Only the owner or co-owner can remove one or more project template versions.
  • All supporting objects associated to the project template version being removed will also be deleted.
  • Removal of the active project template version will attempt to make the previous project template version Active.
  • You cannot remove a template version when a higher revision exists.
