Reference Documents

The Reference Documents page lists documents related to an item such as a part, issue, or another document.

Required access responsibilities: If you have access to the parent item, you have access to the Reference Documents.

To access this page:

  1. Open the required item.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Reference Documents.

Columns

Column Name Description
Name The name of the document object.
Title The title for the file.
Rev Revision number.
Ver Version number.
Type Object type.
Actions The actions you can perform on the listed documents.

Icon Name Action

Subscribe

View and select subscriptions for a document.

Download

Download the file to your local machine without locking it on the server. Navigate to the folder or directory you want to contain the file. Multiple files are downloaded in a single zip file.

Check Out and Lock

Check out the file to your local machine and lock it from other users. Navigate to the folder or directory you want to contain the file.

Checkin

Update a checked-out file to its next version.


Upload File

Upload a new file.

Lock

Lock the file without checking it out.

Unlock

Unlock the file without checking in a new version.

Open Drop Zone

Open the drop zone for dropping a document from 3DDrive or from your local machine. Available in Project Management.

Description Description entered for the document.
State Lifecycle current state.
Opens the Properties page for the document in a separate window.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

Action Description
Create New Document Creates a reference document.
Add Existing Adds a reference document; search for and select a document.
Download Downloads a copy of the selected document to your local computer. You can also click .
Checkout Checks out the selected document. You can also click .
Remove Removes the selected document from its context; click OK to confirm.
Delete Deletes the selected document from the database; click OK to confirm.
Drop files here Lets you create reference documents from files you drop into the Drop files here area above the toolbar. After you drop the files, click Refresh to see reference documents created for each file.
