Setting Notification Preferences

You can set email notifications to users when certain actions happen in Project Management.

Sending a notification from Project Management, such as assigning a task to someone, initializes Project Management within 3DNotification.

In a new environment when you first access the 3DNotification center, Project Management settings are not displayed until the first successful notification. Project Management notification settings are registered dynamically in 3DNotification when the first notification is attempted, for example, the first time a task or risk is assigned to you. Likewise, 3DSpace settings are visible in the notification center once you perform some action that triggers a notification. See "3DDashboard 3DNotifications Settings" in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

Risk notifications are done automatically, without any preference setting. Assigned risk notifications include affected items. The Affected Items name has a link to view item details, if the user has access to affected items. When a risk is promoted to the Complete state, the risk creator will receive notification that includes the affected items.

To set preferences, do the following:

  1. From the Top Bar, click > Preferences.
  2. Scroll down and click Program > Notification Preference.
  3. Select Yes to receive email notifications for these actions:

    • Receive Notifications for Assigned Tasks. When a task gets assigned to the user.

Assigned task notifications include the project space. The Project name has a link to view project details.

    • Receive Notifications for Late Tasks. When a task assigned to the user is not completed by the finish date. Late task notifications are available on premises only.
    • Receive Notifications for Rejected Timesheet. When the user's timesheet gets rejected.
    • Receive Notifications for Submitted Timesheet. The user who submits the timesheet will get notification mail for submitted timesheets.
Note: The following are restrictions on Cloud.
    • The timer servlet is not available, which configures timers for various events, such as timed email notifications. For example, there are no notifications for late tasks.
    • You cannot update settings through a properties file. Settings are fixed on Cloud.

  4. Click Done.
