Creating Tasks by Copying from Another Project

You can copy the entire task structure or part of the structure from another project. When you copy tasks, task calendars, and bookmark URLs are also copied. When you copy a gate, the gate's connected checklists and connected checklist items also get copied. Assignees, dependencies, deliverables, discussions, risks, and routes are not included. You can also copy a project template. In the case of a manual schedule, the copied structure is displayed in the existing structure after you click the rollup icon on the toolbar.

  1. From the list of projects, select what you want to copy:

    • To copy an entire project, select the project.
    • To copy a partial project, expand the project and select the tasks and sub projects you want to copy.

If you select a project template that has questions and connected to some tasks, you need to respond to those questions to add those tasks to the current project schedule.

Note: The "Constraint Type" of the selected tasks is determined using the target project (the project to which the tasks are copied).

  2. Click to copy.
  3. Click Submit.
The full or partial project is copied to the task schedule.
