About Object Assignments Using Drag and Drop

It is possible to assign objects using the drag and drop capability in the tree. Assignment can be made for:

Product to item;
Item to system and operation;
Operation to resource;
Workplan to General system.

Product to Item Assignments Using Drag and Drop

It is possible to assign products to items using the drag and drop capability.

The following table summarizes the behavior for dragging a product and dropping it onto a Manufacturing Assembly:

The implemented Provided Part is retrieved and rerouted under the target Manufacturing Assembly.	A dialog box appears to indicate that an implement link already exists and requires confirmation before creating a new one. Confirm to create a new Provided Part under the target Manufacturing Assembly and assign the product to the created Provided Part.	A new Provided Part is created under the target Manufacturing Assembly and the product is assigned to the created Provided Part.

Note: If the product is not declared as Manufacturable/Procurable, the system asks for a confirmation to assign it.

It is possible to assign operations to resources using the drag and drop capability.

The following table summarizes the behavior for dragging an operation and dropping onto an organizational resource, such as a Manufacturing Cell or Area, directly in the tree.

The previous implement link is deleted, and the operation is assigned to the organizational resource with a new implement link. The following table summarizes the behavior for dragging an operation and dropping it onto a working resource, such as a Robot or Conveyor, directly in the tree.

The previous implement link is deleted, and the operation is assigned to the working resource with a new implement link.	A dialog box appears to indicate that an implement link already exists and requires confirmation before creating a new one. Confirm to assign the operation to the working resource.	Drag and Drop is not possible.

Note: You can drag an operation from the tree and drop it onto the 3D representation of a working resource. In this case the working resource is assigned to the operation.

If the operation is already assigned to one or more working resources, then all those resources are unassigned and the operation is assigned to the new working resource. However, if you hold down Ctrl during the drag and drop, the operation remains assigned to those resources in addition to the new working resource.

Workplan Operation to General System Assignments Using Drag and Drop

It is possible to assign a Workplan operation to a General system or General operation using the drag and drop capability.
