Analyzing Implement Links

You can use Implement Link Analysis to determine which entities have implement links to a selected Product, Item, Resource, System, or Operation. Colored squares are displayed in the tree in front of each node to give this information according to a color code. Scope links must be defined.

Before you begin: Open your session content and start Planning Structure. Appropriate scope links must be defined.
  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, click B.I. Essentials .
    The B.I. Essentials list appears.
  2. From the list, select Implement Link Analysis.

When an object is selected in the tree, colored rectangles are displayed next to tree nodes to provide implement link information:

    • Green: Implementing object
    • Blue: Implemented object
    • Yellow: Implemented and implementing object
    • Orange: Not linked
    • Gray: Not implemented by selected objects.

  3. Select a product node in the tree.
The product node and corresponding item node are colored according to the link analysis color code. The product node is blue (implemented object) and the item node is green (implementing object).

  4. Select an item node in the tree.
The item node and corresponding product and system nodes are colored according to the link analysis color code. The product node is blue (implemented object) and the system node is green (implementing object).

The item node is yellow: it is both an implemented and implementing object.

  5. Select a system node in the tree.
The system node and corresponding item and resource nodes are colored according to the link analysis color code. The item node is blue (implemented object) and the resource node is green (implementing object).

The system node is yellow: it is both an implemented and implementing object.
