Reconstructing and Reviewing 3D Model

You can reconstruct a 3D model from images. After the reconstruction, you can review the 3D result from its reconstruction points of views.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: Draw the 2D geometry.
Note: To activate the Reconstruction Assistant panel, select the Reconstruction assistant option in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Digitized Shape > Photo to Shape > General. .

Reconstruct 3D Model

You can reconstruct a 3D model and compare the result with a 2D image.

  1. From the Reconstruction section of the action bar, click Update .
  2. From the Reconstruction section, click Review Reconstruction .

    Note: When this command is active, 3D rotations are not possible.

    One of the images is placed as background and the camera position is modified accordingly. The aim is to compare the 3D model with its 2D image. The points and curve that are reconstructed but not sketched on the current image are displayed in lowlight.
    Note: By default, the first image in the Image Gallery is selected as background.
  3. To modify the image background, select another image in the Image Gallery.
  4. Click Review Reconstruction or press Esc to hide the background image and leave the review mode.

Review 3D Model With 3D Photo Tour

Using 3D Photo Tour, you can go through all the sketched views used to build up the reconstructed object.

Before you begin: Reconstruct a 3D model from images.
  1. From the Compass, click Play .
  2. From My Play Experiences, click 3D Photo Tour.
  3. Click Exit to exit the animation.
