Reconstructing and Reviewing 3D Model

Note: To activate the Reconstruction Assistant panel, select the Reconstruction assistant option in Me

> Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Digitized Shape > Photo to Shape > General. For more information, see Native Apps Preferences Guide: General.

Reconstruct 3D Model

You can reconstruct a 3D model and compare the result with a 2D image.

From the Reconstruction section of the action bar, click Update .
From the Reconstruction section, click Review Reconstruction .

Note: When this command is active, 3D rotations are not possible.

One of the images is placed as background and the camera position is modified accordingly. The aim is to compare the 3D model with its 2D image. The points and curve that are reconstructed but not sketched on the current image are displayed in lowlight.
Note: By default, the first image in the Image Gallery is selected as background.
To modify the image background, select another image in the Image Gallery.
Click Review Reconstruction or press Esc to hide the background image and leave the review mode.

Reconstruct 3D Model Through Symmetry Completion Process

You can reconstruct the 3D model by adding missing surfaces to complete the symmetrical part. The process is based on user defined symmetry.

Before you begin:

Open a 3D model where the symmetry for one side of the object and a symmetry plane constraint are defined.
In Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Digitized Shape > Photo to Shape > Reconstruction., select the Symmetry based completion option.
Note: To set the symmetry based 3D reconstruction completion on an existing 3D model, right-click the feature, select Properties > Photo to Shape tab and select the Symmetry based completion option.

From the Reconstruction section of the action bar, click Symmetry Creation .
The 3D symmetry plane and the Symmetry Based Completion option appear.
Click the Symmetry Based Completion option.
The Symmetry Based Completion is now activated.
From the Reconstruction section of the action bar, click Update .

Note: Only parts located entirely on one side of the plane are taken into account. Portions crossing the plane of symmetry are not taken into account.

The other symmetrical part of the object is reconstructed.

Note: To delete the newly reconstructed part, click again Symmetry Based Completion , and then Update .

Review 3D Model With 3D Photo Tour

Using 3D Photo Tour, you can go through all the sketched views used to build up the reconstructed object.

Before you begin: Reconstruct a 3D model from images.

From the Compass, click Play .
From My Play Experiences, click 3D Photo Tour.
Click Exit to exit the animation.
