Using Line and Bar Charts

Line and bar charts represent business objects data and their properties. You can interact with these charts to explore their data.

This task shows you how to:

Zoom in on Timeline Charts

On timeline charts, you can change the default date range that the x-axis displays to a date range of your choice.

Do either of the following:
  • Click one of the date range options that appear between the title and the graph area (1m, 3m, 6m, YTD, 1y, All).
  • Enter custom dates in the From and To fields. Date format is YYYY-MM-DD.

The chart immediately updates the time range it displays.

Note: The default date range (All) is restored when you leave the page.

Display More Chart Entries

On any chart, when the number of entries exceeds the x-axis length, a pagination automatically appears under the chart so you can display hidden entries.

On a chart that contains more entries than displayed, click the pagination arrows to display hidden entries.

Hide or Display Chart Series from the Legend

On any chart that is composed of more than one series, you can hide or display series from the legend.

  1. On a chart legend, click any series name to hide its content from the chart.
    The series is grayed out in the legend and its corresponding items are hidden.
  2. To display a hidden series, click its grayed name in the legend.

Maximize

You can increase the size of any chart to make it fill the whole widget space.

  1. On a chart, click Actions... > Maximize.
  2. To exit the maximize mode, click anywhere outside the chart or click Actions... > Minimize.

See Underlying Data

You can display a pane that contains a table view of the chart's data and a list of all the charted objects so you can explore their details.

  1. From the header of the chart whose objects you want to see, click Actions... > See underlying data.
    The Underlying Data pane opens at the bottom of the widget. It composed of:
    • A Values tab, which displays a table view of the chart's data.
    • An Objects tab, which displays a list of all the charted objects.
  2. From the tabs, you can perform the following:

    Values To see more values, use the pagination.
    Objects
    • To modify the column order, drag any column header to the position you want its column to be.
    • To use an object with another widget of your dashboard, drag the object's Drag this item to another widget... command from the Name column to the other widget.

      Compatible widgets depend on your 3DEXPERIENCE configuration and roles.

    • To open an object's details, click on the row of the object whose details you want to see.
    • To open an object with another compatible 3DEXPERIENCE app, click > Open With on the row of this object and select the 3DEXPERIENCE app you want to open it with.

      A widget of the app you selected opens in preview mode and displays the object. Compatible apps depends on your 3DEXPERIENCE configuration and roles.

  3. To close the Underlying Data pane, click .
