Creating a Network of Curves

Curves Network creates a network of constrained curves.

  1. Select a clean contour, a curves network, or a join of curves.
  2. Optional: Select the mesh that supports the curves network.
  3. Click Apply.
    • Overlapping curves are displayed.
    • Wires are computed and displayed.

A wire is computed on each loop of curves, plus a large one on the loop formed by the external curves. You can delete the large wire (not required when the network does not form a closed volume) or wires corresponding to holes.

  4. Press Deleting wire to enable the selection of wires to delete.
    1. Select the large external wire, or two edges of an internal wire.
    2. Press Delete wire.
  5. Go to the Constraints tab to define constraints on the whole network.
    • Node tolerance to consider two edges as connected on a node.
    • Automatic tangency to activate tangency constraints.
    • Projection on support to compute the network from the projections of the curves on the mesh, with a Smoothing tolerance.
    • Global deformation to apply a global deformation constraint (When cleared, applies a local deformation constraint).
  6. Go to the Freeze tab and select the curves to freeze.
  7. Go to the Display tab and select the information to display and their visualization.
    • Distances at nodes to display the minimum 3D distance between two curves at their pseudo-intersection.
    • Max deviation between the network and the mesh or input curves.
    • Display of Spikes: Curves-Curves deviation , Curves-Mesh deviation , Curvature .
