You can give an Equipment extension to a product to be able to connect it with a flat cable. You can create a segment connection point on it and connect it to a flat cable.
If you associate a subtype filter to a resource table in the Data Setup, you can choose the subtype from a pre-defined list to apply on equipment at creation stage. See Electrical 3D Part Design: Administration : Data Setup: Using a Physical Equipment Subtype Filter in the Electrical 3D Part Design App.
Before you begin: Select a board in the Circuit Board Designapp otherwise the command works like in Electrical 3D Part Design.
Double-click the representation of the board assembly.
The
Rigid Flexible Circuit Board Designapp
switches to the
Circuit Board Designapp.
From the Rigid Flex section of the action bar, click
Equipment.
The Electrical Equipment dialog box appears.
Select the board assembly.
Specify a Name.
The standard 3D shape is automatically detected.
The Equipment Definition dialog box appears, containing the following information:
Name
Type
Part Subtype
Click OK to validate.
The board assembly is converted into an equipment. In the tree, its symbol is updated .
