Defining Rigid Flexible Parameters

You can define Rigid Flex Parameters at the creation of a rigid flexible assembly. A rigid flexible assembly is an electrical geometry with specific parameters. It is made of several board assemblies connected by flat cables. Each board and flat cable must have the same thickness and layer position defined in the Rigid Flex Parameters dialog box.

Before you begin: Create an electrical geometry.
  1. From the Rigid Flex section of the action bar, click Create Rigid Flex Parameters .
The Rigid Flex Parameters dialog box is displayed with three attributes:
    • Rigid Board Thickness: is the thickness of the rigid parts of the board.
    • Flexible Section Thickness: is the thickness of the flexible layer
    • Flexible Section Position: is the distance between the flat cable's bottom layer and the board's top layer.
  2. Set the options according to your needs and click OK.
The Rigid Flex Parameters dialog box closes and the RFB Parameters node appears in the tree under the representation node.

  3. Double-click RFB Parameters to edit them.

As the command adds attributes to the representation, the product must be saved. For this, click Save.
