Creating a Parallel Route

Parallel Route lets you create a route parallel to another one.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Parallel Route

You can create a route parallel to another route.

  1. From the Parallel Routing panel, select the options of your choice.
  2. Click the guideline route.
  3. Click the segment next to the node from which you want to start the parallel route.
Important: Clicking next to the node will define the direction of the parallel route. Once the direction is set, only nodes ahead can be selected.
  4. Select the orientation of the subordinate route with the ruler.
Note: For non circular shape, the orientation of the route remains the same whatever the new position of the route is.
  5. Click the next nodes to continue the route.

Modify a Parallel Route

You can modify a parallel route.

  1. Double-click the route you want to modify.
Note: When you edit the subordinate route from a guidline/subordinate combination, a symbol with a specific color is displayed on each node :
    • : indicates the first parallel point of the subordinate route.
    • : indicates the other parallel points of the subordinate route.
    • : indicates the guideline route nodes. Guideline route nodes are displayed only in Parallel Routing mode.
  2. Select the guideline route.
  3. Click next to the node from which you want to start your parallel route.
  4. Click the next nodes to continue modifying the existing route.
