Replacing a Part

Replace lets you replace a part by an existing part or by a major version of the part. The route is repaired automatically.

Important: The Replace command works only for rigid route.

This task shows you how to:

Replace a Part

You can replace a part.

  1. Select a product in the tree.
  2. From the Product Modification section of the action bar, click Replace By Existing .
  3. Select Automatically reconnect in the Replace options dialog box and click OK.
  4. Select the new reference in the tree.
  5. Click Update All from the standard area of the action bar.
  6. Double-click each rigid route that are linked to the part to edit them.
  7. Click Yes to repair the route or No to exit the command.

Replace a Part by Fluidic Part in Library

You can replace a part by a raceway part stored in the library.

  1. Select the part to be replaced.
  2. From the Library Editor, select the part from the respective class.

Replace a Part by Raceway Part in Catalog

You can replace a part by a raceway part stored in the catalog.

  1. Select the new raceway part in the catalog.
  2. Click OK.
    If the route needs to be repaired, the Edit Route dialog box appears.
  3. Click Yes to repair the route.

Replace a Part by Raceway Part in 3DEXPERIENCE

You can replace a part by a raceway part stored in the database.

  1. Select the new raceway part from search or from session.
  2. Click OK.
    If the route needs to be repaired, the Edit Route dialog box appears.
  3. Click Yes to repair the route.

Cloning and Replacing a Part

You can transform a standard part with a fix geometry into a standard part with an editable geometry.

The Clone and Replace this Fluidic Part command modifies the Reference Mode value from Reuse to NewFrom of the standard part with the fix geometry only if this one has Reuse as Reference Mode value and Reuse or New From as Instantiation Rule value.

  1. Click the part you want to clone.
  2. Click OK.
    The new part is created with NewFrom as Reference Mode value and you can now change its properties.
