About Design Range Management

When you create new content, you must specify the associated design range. Normal range is the default option and is sufficient in the majority of cases. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps: Introducing Design Range Management.

Commands involving a split of the tray have a specific behavior with the Design Range Management. The tray resulting from a split keeps the same design range as the original tray.

For example, if you split a tray that has been created in a normal range but you are now in large range, the new tray will be in normal range.

The impacted commands are the following:

  • Split
  • Part Placement
  • Branch
