About Handling Extremities

Handling extremities consists in adding extra edges at each extremity of the bars. When you create a rebar wire whether it is originated from a user -defined feature instantiation, the wire selection option, or the wire from picking points option, the rebar creation command enables you to add extra edges at each extremity of the bars.

This page discusses:

Additional Wire

From the Rebar Creation dialog box, you can switch to a dedicated sketcher editor to design an additional wire.

Relimitation

If you check the Relimitation check box , you can select two modes:

  • With length: To increase the bar length (length>0) or decrease the bar length (length<0).
    • In this mode, you can extrapolate the initial wire with a positive curvilinear length illustrated as follows:

    • In this mode, you can split the initial wire from its extremity using a negative curvilinear length greater than the initial wire length illustrated as follows:

  • From selection: To define a surface that is used to extrapolate/split the bars on the chosen extremity.

If the Relimitation check box is cleared the relimitation is removed.

Hook

Default radius, angle and length values (originated from the configuration table or preferences) are displayed and used to initialize the hook values if the Hook check box is selected. You can modify the initial hook values and select the limitation mode of your choice .

In the 3D area, a dedicated flag is linked to the bar extremity, where the start hook marked is identified in yellow, the end hook marked is identified in orange and the label indicates the limitation mode that is selected (From extremity). The hook's end length, end angle, and radius values are marked in , they can be modified. You can use to reverse the angle orientation. The rebar diameter and spacing information is also displayed in .
