Creating Reports

About Rebar Reports

The rebar report provides information about the each type of bar and each type of rebar layer created in the form of tables and pictures. You can export the report in various formats.

This page discusses:

Content of the Report

The report consists of detailed rebar information of a Part or of a Product that are displayed in a table. The information is exported to an output XML file.

The report can be a .html file or an .xls file that consists of the summary and details of the created rebar layers. A rebar report is generated based on the date and time. Generating a new report overwrite the previous one. If you modify a rebar layer, for which a report was created you must generate a new report to account for the modifications. The report displays the following information under specific nodes:

  • Feature name and rebar physical diameter
  • Value of each dimensioning parameter
  • Object type information: name, configuration/revision if a configuration table is linked to the object type, picture (if any) and documentation (if any).
  • IFC property set values (Pset)
  • User features published parameter values
  • A 2D picture of the rebar 3D profile. You can customize the representation of the bar in the report by editing the .svg file used to generate the pictures in the report (in resources\Civil\Rebars directory of the installation).
  • IFC quantity take-off (Qto) values (count, length and weight)
  • Number of bends (if any), angle and radius for each bend
  • Angle, radius and length for start and end hook (if any)
  • Length of each bar segment for all bars in layer
  • Bar mark with group prefix and number

Location of the Report

The report and the directory containing support files are saved on the local drive at the specified location. By default, the report directory is created in the AppData directory as RebarsReport.

The directory, for example C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Temp\RebarsReport contains the following support files:

  • XSL files that contain presentation information (for html and Excel).
  • A full output xml report: FullReport.xml, regardless the selected format. This xml file contains information related to the selected rebar layers. The data is displayed under main nodes and child nodes.
  • The report files (xls and or html files)
  • A documentation directory that contains the detailed description of the selected rebar types
  • A pictures directory that contains images of the selected rebars

Report Format

You can save and export rebar layer data in different output file formats.

The Export Rebar Report function is based on the XSL technology. HTML and Excel formats are provided along with Concrete Structures 3D Design by default (circled in yellow in the figure below). XML and XSL files are combined to generate various output formats:

The BIM manager can modify Export Rebar Report function so the output format proposed may be different or customize the layout by applying filters on rebar layer data.
