Extracting Bars from a Rebar Layer

You can extract a single bar or several bars that need to be different from the others in a rebar layer to comply with a local design scheme.

Before you begin:
  • Create a rebar layer in a part representation.
  • Specify Normal range in Me > Preferences.
  • Specify Fixed for the 3D Accuracy and select a value ranging from 0.5 to 1.0.
  1. In the work area, select a bar or a group of bars to disconnect from the rebar layer.

Tip: Use Ctrl+Click to select several bars.

  2. From the context toolbar, click Extract .

The highlighted bar or group of bars is extracted.

Notes:
  • Once a bar is extracted, the rebar layer update does not generate a bar at the extracted bar position.
  • The extracted bar is a rebar layer feature containing only one bar. By default, a selection pattern is defined for this new layer, but another pattern can be set by editing the layer.
  • Extract parameters are copied from the original layer, so that they keep the original layer values, but they can be modified separately from the source layer.
  • Any change made to the original layer does not affect the extracted bars, and conversely.
  • If the extracted bars are deleted, they are integrated into the original layer automatically. If you want to delete some bars locally inside a layer, edit the pattern of the original layer and deactivate the axes related to the bars to ignore.
