You can filter template elements to reduce the number of analyzed elements used for the template creation or for the report generation.

Filter by Conditions

In any Condition box, you can enter an OTScript instruction to filter the set of analyzed elements.

Filter by a Configuration Filter

You can generate a report with a specific product configuration or predefined configuration provided in parameter.

Filter by a Dedicated Method

If you use a Filter method in your template, you can use several product configuration filters in the same report generation.

In the Data tab, each parameter or variable contains a Filter method that takes a product configuration and a predefined configuration in parameters. This method creates a variable of the same type from which data are filtered.

The example below shows the behavior when you insert a Filter method:

A loop defined on the Filter method with the following arguments:

  • Receiver: var
  • Parameters: a product configuration or a predefined configuration or both

Returned variable: varWithFilter


A loop defined on any method with the filtering receiver: varWithFilter.

Returned variable: varM1


Any terminal method which returns a terminal data.

Important: If you use varM1 in the loop defined in , you work with filtered data.


A loop defined on any method with the receiver: var.

Returned variable: varM2


Any terminal method that returns a terminal data.

Important: If you use varM2 in the loop defined in , you work with unfiltered data.

Note: You can use a filtered variable as parameter in a subtemplate call.
