Previewing a Report

You can visualize an intermediate preview of your template under construction.

Before you begin: Make sure that your browser is compatible with the latest HTML 5 specification.

  1. From the Template Editor, select the Preview tab.
  2. To complete the input parameters, you can either enter a string or search as follows:
    • For a string: Enter a string
    • For other type:
      1. Enter a case-sentive search pattern to narrow down the parameter search results.
        Note: The search pattern must not begin with the * wildcard and must not be empty.
      2. Click .

        Objects corresponding to the concerned type appear in the 3DSearch dialog box or in a list if the input parameter is not indexed in the 3DSearch.

      3. Select or drag the selected object from the 3DSearch.
        Notes:
        • For not indexed input parameters in the 3DSearch, select a parameter from the list.
        • To edit again the search box, click or press the Clean button.
    The input parameter is displayed with its name, revision, or other information depending on its type.
  3. Click Refresh to update the preview.

The Preview tab contains a generated report based on the current template. In this preview:

  • The parameters and variables are evaluated.
  • The elements like tables or lists are expanded.
  • The display format is HTML.
