In a template, you can insert rich text data to include these elements in an
associated generated report file.
The following scenario describes how to insert a rich text data in a paragraph. The scenario
is identical if you insert a rich text data in another element. For more information
about concerned elements, see Data, Structure Elements, and Instructions.
Before you begin:
Create an element containing rich texts in an external app. For example, create a requirement in the Traceability Requirements
Management
app with a rich content. For more information, see Traceability
Requirements Management: Editing Rich Content.
Create a template with a parameter. To define this parameter, select the type of
the element previously created in the external app. For the previous example, select requirement for the parameter type.
Create a report associated with the template. To set the report parameter,
select the element created in the external app.
From the Structures tab, drag the
Paragraph element into a template.
A paragraph area is added to the Graphical area.
From the Data tab, expand the tree of the parameter.
Drag the Rich Text method of the parameter into the
paragraph.
If you have the Report Producer role,
you can generate a report file where rich texts provided by the rich text parameter will
be inserted. For more information, see Report Generation: Managing and Generating Reports: Generating Report
Files.
