Output Format Styles Correspondence

A file generated in .rtf contains the following associated tags:

The following default styles of the output formats are based on .rtf file format:

Template Structures Corresponding styles in the generated file
Section Title Heading N
Paragraph Body Text
Column Title Body Text

Styles Definition

To properly display template structure elements and elements with customized styles in generated report files, you must define and employ the corresponding styles in the .rtf output formats.

Tips:
  • To avoid styles display in a generated report file, use these styles between the %endheader and %begintrailer keywords.
  • To create a Number Lists or Bullet Lists list style in the output format and define the corresponding appearance settings, use the Define New List Style option of Word, otherwise these list styles will be created automatically when necessary.

Generation Process

To customize the look of your report file, you can interact in the generation process. The %endheader and %begintrailer keywords must be inserted in the .rtf output formats.

The following process describes how Report Generation generates .rtf report files:

  • Pastes the output format document header in the report file
  • Replaces the text placed between %endheader and %begintrailer keywords by the generated content
  • Pastes the output format document end in the report file
