You can use change tracking to identify the modifications between two report
files consecutively generated. To detect differences, you must generate the two
versions with change tracking mode. This mode only tracks textual and structural
differences.
-
From the Reports page, select one or more reports,
and then click Actions
> Generate with Changes
.
The generation process starts and you receive an email when the
generation ends.
- Optional:
If the template contains post-editable texts or set fields:
- Click the following hyperlink: "This generation needs a post-editing action", which
appears in the Document column.
- Complete the texts in the page report, which appears.
Notes:
- Previously set editable texts and set fields appear in the dedicated places.
- A scrollbar with yellow markers helps you identify in the
page all the texts to be completed. Click the markers to
lead to the corresponding post-editable fields.
- Click Done.
You receive another email when the action ends.
The report list is automatically and periodically refreshed to display all the updated generated reports.
- If the report file is generated for the first time with change tracking
mode, the generation works as in the previous task. The change tracking
mode is now activated. The tracked changes appear in the generated
report file in the next generation.
- Otherwise, the generated report file contains tracked changes because of the modifications
in the template or data.
You can now verify the report's content. For more information, see Visualizing a Generated Report File. The latest
changes, such as added and deleted elements, are displayed as annotations in the
generated report files.
