Enabling the Edit in Word Functionality

You must copy the Collaboration for Microsoft client installation file to the proper location on the server for it to be available for download from the Utilities menu in Collaboration and Approvals. Users with the proper permissions can then use the Download Collaboration for Microsoft Client command in the Utilities menu to download the client installer file.

Before you begin: Install Collaboration for Microsoft on the server. For more information, see Collaboration for Microsoft - Installation and Administration: Installing Collaboration for Microsoft on the Server. Set Microsoft Word as the preferred rich text editor. For more information, see Traceable Requirements Management User's Guide: Customizing Traceable Requirements Management.
  1. Copy the Collaboration for Microsoft client installer (a zip file, whose name starts with CollaborationforMicrosoftClient-) from the ENOVIA_MOF media to the following location on the server:

    <server-directory>/apache-tomcat/webapps/3DSpace/integrations/MSF/GA
Note: You can copy the client installer file to the following location on the server instead, but you must then run warutil afterwards:
    <server-directory>/serverapache-tomcat/webapps/3DSpace/integrations/MSF/GA

  2. Restart the server.

Users with the proper permissions and licenses can now download and install the Collaboration for Microsoft client on their computers. They also need to install the Requirements Capture Microsoft Word add-in before they can use the Edit in Word feature in Traceable Requirements Management and the Requirements Structure Editor. For more information, see Collaboration for Microsoft - Installation and Administration: Downloading Collaboration for Microsoft Client from the Web UI and Installing Requirement Capture for Microsoft Word.
