Requirement Capture Rules for Microsoft Word

There are rules to consider when capturing requirements. These rules determine what happens when a new selection overlaps, encompasses, or falls within an existing new or imported capture.

The following general rules that apply to all new selections:

  • Do not capture the first line in the document. If you must capture the first line, insert a blank line above it, and then begin the capture from the second line.
  • Center-justified pictures and tables are left-justified after capture.
  • Table background colors are not captured.
