Requirement Specifications Page

By default, the requirement specifications list shows the specifications and specifications folders that you own. You can filter it to list all specifications and folders, all specifications owned by you, or all specifications.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Reader, Author, or Leader

To view the specifications list: From the Compass, click Social and Collaborative Apps , then select Requirements > Requirement Specifications.

Columns

Column Name Description
NameThe name of the specification or specifications folder. This can be an autoname. Click the name to open the specification or folder. The icon identifies the type of item:

Specifications folder

Work under/change action You can now use "Work under" in 3DSpace UX. Once the work under command is enabled, you can select Change Action (CA). You can only create a Test Case (TC) under change in the 3DSpace app; no other operations are allowed.

You can search for CA that are in the “In Work” state and for which the logged in user is owner or assignee. When you initiate work under, the Work Under icon appears with a green check mark.

RevisionThe current revision of the specification or folder. indicates that a higher revision exists.
StateIndicates the lifecycle state of the specification.
(Engineering Change) indicates that an active engineering change exists for the specification or specification folder.
(Lock State)Indicates whether the specification is locked by a user:

The specification is locked by you.


The specification is locked by another user.

(Files) indicates that there are files uploaded or checked in to the specification. Click to open the Files page.
TitleThe brief title of the specification or folder. This title is used in all lists in which the specification or folder appears.
DescriptionThe more detailed description of the specification or folder.
OwnerThe person who owns the specification or folder.
Version1 indicates that there is one file version associated with the specification. indicates that there are more than one file versions associated with the specification. Click to open the File Versions page.
ProjectThe project with which the specification is associated.
ModifiedThe date on which the specification or folder was last modified.
(Open in New Window)Opens the specification or specification folder in a new web browser window.

Views

Click to filter the list to show all or only those you own.

Owned SpecificationsShows only the specifications that you own.

Actions Menu/Toolbar Commands

Action Description
Create Requirement Specification Creates a new specification from scratch.
Duplicate Copies the contents of the selected specification to create a new specification.
Create Specifications Folder Creates a new specifications folder from scratch.
Add to Project Folder Adds the selected specification to an existing project folder. This action is not available for specifications folders.
Traceability Report > Req-Req Allows you to configure and run the Requirement-Requirement Traceability Report. This action is not available for specification folders.
Traceability Report > Req-Feature Allows you to configure and run the Requirement-Feature Traceability Report. This action is not available for specification folders.
Traceability Report > Req-Test Case Allows you to configure and run the Requirement-Test Case Traceability Report. This action is not available for specification folders.
Traceability Report > Req-Function Allows you to configure and run the Requirement-Function Traceability Report. This action is not available for specification folders.
Traceability Report > Req-Logical Allows you to configure and run the Requirement-Logical Traceability Report. This action is not available for specification folders.
Traceability Report > Req-Physical Allows you to configure and run the Requirement-Physical Traceability Report. This action is not available for specification folders.
Structure Compare Compares objects from the same specification or folder to those in the same or another specification or folder.
Change > Change Request > Add to Existing Adds the selected objects to an existing change request.
Change > Change Request > Add to New Creates a new change request and adds the selected objects to it.
Change > Change Order > Add to Existing Adds the selected objects to an existing change order.
Change > Change Order > Add to New Creates a new change order and adds the selected objects to it.
Change > Change Action > Add to Existing Adds the selected objects to an existing change order.
Change > Change Action > Add to New Creates a new change order and adds the selected objects to it.
Change > Mass Release Releases all selected specifications. This action is not available for specification folders. Selected objects must be in a state prior to "Released" and cannot be connected to an incomplete change action. The Create Change Order page opens where you can create a change order to govern the mass change. You must use the "Fast track Change" policy.
Change > Mass Obsolete Makes all selected specification obsolete. This action is not available for specification folders. Selected objects must be in the "Released" state and cannot be connected to an incomplete change action. The Create Change Order page opens where you can create a change order to govern the mass change. You must use the "Fast track Change" policy.
Revision Creates a revision of the selected specification. This action is not available for specification folders.
Subscribe Subscribes you to events for which you would like to be notified for the selected specifications. This action is not available for specification folders.
Delete Removes all selected specifications and specifications folders from the list and deletes them from the database. Select OK to confirm.
Note: You cannot delete a specification that includes objects locked or owned by another user.
Mass Promote Mass promotes all selected specifications to the next lifecycle state. This action is not available for specification folders.
Mass Demote Mass demotes all selected specifications to the previous lifecycle state. This action is not available for specification folders.

Contextual Menu for Specifications

Right-click on any specification in the structure display to access the available contextual commands.

Action Description
Expand All Expands all of the objects under the selected specification.
Collapse All Collapses all of the objects under the selected specification.
Select Direct Children Selects all of the direct children objects of the specification.
Unselect Direct Children Unselects the direct children objects of the specification.
Select All Descendants Selects all descendant objects (children and their children) of the specification.
Unselect All Descendants Unselects all descendant objects (children and their children) of the specification.
Duplicate Copies the contents of the selected specification to create a new specification.
Attributes Shows the property attributes of the specification.
Lifecycle Shows the Lifecycle, Tasks/Signatures, and Approvals tabs of the specification in a new window.
Add to Collection > Add to Clipboard Adds the selected specification to your clipboard.
Add to Collection > New/Add to Collections Adds the selected specification to a new or existing collection.
Delete Removes all selected specifications from the list and deletes them from the database. Select OK to confirm. You cannot delete a specification that includes objects locked by another user.
