-
Open the requirement specification document in Microsoft Word.
-
In the Requirement Capture toolbar, click Manage Tags
.
The Manage Requirement Object Tags page lists all the tagged items in the document. Italic orange
text identifies a new capture (one that does not yet have a cartridge). Bold green text identifies a previously imported capture (one that already has a cartridge).
Capture objects appear as follows: - Chapter titles appear as the highlighted or selected heading name or as the
first 25 characters of body text. If no body text exists, then the words "New Chapter"
appear.
- Requirements and sub-requirements appear as the first 25 characters of selected
text. If no text exists, then the words "New Requirement" or "New Sub Requirement" appear. Sub requirements are indented under the parent requirement up to one level deep. For the second and subsequent levels, sub requirements are indented at the same level as their parent sub requirements.
- Comments
appear as the first 25 characters of selected text. If no text exists,
then the words "New Comment" appear.
-
In the tree listing, right-click the New Specification name.
A context menu opens for selecting or unselecting All,
Requirements, Chapters,
and Comments.
-
In the tree listing, specify which objects you want to create a cartridge for:
- Deselect the objects that you do not want to create a cartridge for.
- Select the objects that you want to create a cartridge for.
- Selectively modify tagged captures in one or more of the following ways:
- Click Create Cartridge to create cartridges containing the selected objects' attribute names and their values. You can also select the sub type for an object, if available. For example, for a requirement object, your Business Administrator may have defined sub types for customer requirements and user requirements. These user-defined types may have their own defined attributes.
- Click Clear Cartridge to remove the selected objects' attribute information.
- Click Clear Tag to remove the selected item from the list of tagged objects.
- Assign attributes to a tagged object that already has a cartridge (requirement, chapter, comment):
- Open the Properties page for a tagged object by clicking
above the object. - On the Properties page, enter the value you want to import for each of the attributes of the tagged object. You can also specify the tagged object's Type, which may have one ore more pre-defined sub types.
- To indicate that these attributes are ready for import, set To Import? to True. Setting this value to False keeps these attributes in the document but does not import them.
- Click Save.
The attributes are added below the tagged object in the Microsoft Word document. Each coded attribute is separated by the "|" character. - If you want to view a tagged object in Traceable Requirements Management, right-click the object, then select Launch in Enovia.
The object opens in Traceable Requirements Management. - Click Close on the Manage Requirement Object Tags page.
